I’ve missed Blogging

Oh how I’ve missed Blogging! I needed to stop and say hello! Please forgive me I have not forgotten about all of you! Life has presented some awesome things so I must receive and adjust. Somehow I have managed to let this part of my life slip away. Blogging is a part of my world and I know that besides getting adjusted to the daily routine of life, this year has started off with a BANG! POW! I am like a little girl in the shoe store trying to determine what shoe to pick first... The word “exciting” does not do the feeling justice. For me that is Enormous!

On my “To Do List” is to master multitasking. Still working on that! I am looking forward to sharing the results of hard work and let’s not forget “Devine Favor”. Can’t live without those two words. However, in order for it to work one must believe it! In this journey of life I have notice that “Everyone is not going to feel/share the same feelings about success as you do”. So therefore, you must learn to keep some things to yourself and pray about it. I always refer to those people as “Dream Killers”. In the meantime, if you are strong enough to pray for them then do that and keep it moving. “Dream Supporters” are so far and few. I am fortunate enough to have a few that I absolutely love and adore.

“Change is possible but must be more powerful than your will to stay the same”. So, to all of you get out of your own way and make it do what it do! Everything is possible if you believe.
Gotta run! Till Next time…

Peace and Blessings you,

Winter Looks/Fashion Update

Living in the windy city/Chicago, IL, this winter weather has been downright disrespectful! Skip windy more like aggressive, mean and downright rude. It has only been 22 days into the New Year and I am thinking to myself how in the world am I going to make it?  I can already see right now that I will most definitely become a winter bird and have a home in a warmer climate. This is SOOOO not going to work! So I had to dig really deep and pull out the Power of “Innovation”, also known as “Creativity”. Personally, I am not a big fan of winter/snow but I am trying very hard not to complain, with that being said I have to focus on other things and in that just being grateful! Now, that I have released my inner agitation, moving right along.  Some winter style & make-up/hair looks done by: yours trulyàTricaB hope you enjoy!

Till Next Time!

Happy New Year! (2014)

I know this is a little late but I sat down and put my heart on paper. Was reluctant at first, wrote this a couple of weeks ago, however my desire is to inspire! This letter is truth and growth in its purest form!  Hope you enjoy!

My letter to 2013
The longest year of my life!
You were harsh in the beginning, basically the entire year. Most of the time I had a constant attitude about you. Definitely, we were not Seeing Eye to eye. Attacking me and my family, the list going on and on!  What in the world is going on? Isn’t life suppose to get better I thought to myself. Over and over again, I thought someone was playing a trick on me… Not one time did you give me a warning to let me know that you would have such a massive impact? Because of the impact I have learned much. I have learned more gratitude and the art of letting go. Those two have been the star characters in 2013. You were rough in the beginning almost belligerent but yet refusing to NOT let me forget the meaning of gratitude and letting go.

You gave me the platform to embrace new things while pushing me into a place where I am supposed to be (Destinationà Destiny). All along I knew that there was something great inside of me but this is HUGE…Not going to lie it scared me. New relationships have formed and unhealthy relationships passed. 2013 you have brought me to new and exciting relationships and for that I am grateful. At, first I did not see your plan but now I do.

Now coming to the stage: Loving people at a distance; ß(this one is a doozieL)! Everyone is not going to identify with, support or believe in YOU! One of my predictions is this just because you may carry the same D.N.A does not mean I have to break bread or obligate myself to entertain you. If that small voice inside tells you to remain silent, obey! I love you and I pray for you because I have to go to heaven and that is all that is required. The same D.N.A really DOES NOT APPLY.

Next coming to the stage: Loving people that have done you wrong, (I mean dreadfully wrong). My stance on this is simple, “Why waste the energy on allowing them to take up space in your heart”. I know that I have grown because I now pray for those people. (But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! –Matthew 5:44)

Forgive, Release it and let it go. Is it hard? YES! It is a process but can be done with time and prayer. If you are fortunate enough to have someone to talk to then allow them to be a sounding board for what is going on inside. Hurt is REAL and sometimes a daily visitor. I Thank God for my sounding boards. They are so precious to me!

2013 I thank you for being honest and showing me the “true faces” of people including myself. And in my revelations I can still love. Thank you for giving me a greater capacity of “LOVE”. I didn’t grasp that my heart could be so deep and yet so open even after it has been repaired. Always been a fan of LOVE but OH my goodness, this LOVE thing is serious. A true romantic indeed but the love that I am referring to only comes from God. Because I love the creator of all things beautiful, loving is attainable. After all the hurt that I have endured, I still can love completely and wholly. It has taught me to love myself, take of care of my body, mind and spirit. For a while I didn’t think you (2013) would ever arrive but you did. Doctors and others said I would never see it and if I did see it I would be miserable. I am still here, healthy and HAPPY AS EVER!

Standing firm in my beliefs and never settling was useful in 2013. If you believe, believe strong! Second guessing can get you in a world of trouble. Lastly, being honest and accepting honesty. Check thy own reflection daily! I call it the Power of Self-Assessment. 2013 you have set the stage for 2014. I knew there would be a storm but I didn’t expect the storm would be this long or even this intense. GEESH!

Oh! How can I forget how uncomfortable I was? Getting pushed out of my comfort zone was SO not cool. Didn’t like it one bit! 2013 the year of discomfort truly! Every day was something I had to tackle concerning change. In changing I had to realize in order to achieve my personal goals I must be willing to accept change with an open mind and stop trying to figure things out. Just go with it!

Now that I understand the plan and the intent to move me INTO my destiny I can NOW appreciate you. With that appreciation comes “Thanks and Humility” Though it was long, painful and torturous it was needed. Thank you for transitioning me into a better woman, and better human being. God had pre-ordained 2013 for my year of accelerated training. As, long as there is breathe in my body there will always be room to grow.

In the end, all these lessons turned into “POWER’S” planted inside of me! The power of Letting Go, The Power of Gratitude, The Power of Loving People at a Distance, The Power of Loving People that have done you wrong. The Power of Relentlessness, The Power to Live and Love ALL of Me, The Power to be myself, The Power of Being and Accepting Honesty. The Power of Change, Lastly; The Power to LOVE.

Peace and Blessings you!

Holiday 2013 Recap

Whew! Can you say T I R E D!! Okay I am trying to figure out what happen to the Christmas Holiday?!?! We do all of that preparing and then ZAP it is all over with just like that. I am still trying to catch my breath from ALL of the holiday festivities. Don’t mean to sound like a broken record but this Holiday Season has been a TRUE blessing! For me has absolutely nothing to do with all the glitz and glam...Don’t get me wrong it is a good thing to have but for me it was about “Good Health”. And just because I am in “Good Health” I did bring my “Holiday Style”. Pic'sà (click here)

The older I get little things in my life create instant surges of happiness. I find myself smiling instantly because my mind begins to replay the last few years. I am grateful for everything that I have and what is to come! God allowed me to take a sneak peak at 2014 and let’s just say I am EXCITIED. I already got an unexpected miracle that messed my head up but…Why should I be surprise that is how God works!

Christmas morning I had the pleasure of serving dinners to the less fortune courtesy of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Deliverance Center. I was gathered by a host of great young women from my church which included the pastor wife and the senior mother of the church. Having done a substantial amount of humanitarian work in the past, this year was really special for me and I am appreciative of the experience. Serving Christmas dinners has been a part of FPHDC history for years and I am proud to have been a part of history.

Later that day the “Barnes & Oliver” Family had dinner together. We agreed that it would be nice to go out this year just as we did for Thanksgiving. It was pleasure to be able to sit down in one place and eat without the women in the family being overly irritated because of slaving over a hot stove. LOL… It was nice for a change. No one could complain because we were able to enjoy each other in peace and harmony. J

Peace and Blessings to You!

Holiday Style & Gratitude

Merry Christmas EVERYONE!!!
My favorite time of year and I am SUPA excited…
This year is so special for me…Plain and simple I am in good health and absolutely PAIN FREE. I am so grateful to God! WHOOO HOOO… These last few years have been a REAL challenge. More like a night-mare.  Of course, I would love to have a custom made Harry Winston and a 1930’s vintage Louis Vuitton trunk sitting under the Christmas tree but at the end of the day if you are not in good health it means nothing. I am a true Girly Girl indeed! It is a blessing to be able to wake up and not have to reach for pain medicine. The greatest gift that I received this year has been “Great” health! Of course, there is a story behind that and I promise to share it soon!

Whatever your reason is for celebrating do it with style and of course gratitude. Holiday Style is what I call it! Don’t let an event pass you by and not bring your style game! Pull out your best Ladies and Gentlemen and celebrate. Enjoy the looks from “TricaB Closet”!

Continuous Thanks!

Happy December! Hope your “Thanksgiving” brought much joy and PLENTY of food. Now that Thanksgiving is over, Do you still have a “Continuous Thanks” in your heart?

This post is dedicated to mi familia! These last few years have been challenging so we decided this year that we would skip all of the hoopla and just enjoy each other. This was the first year that we have gone out for “Thanksgiving Dinner”. It has always been a tradition since I was a little girl to go to “Grandma House” and eat until we pass out!  Let just say “Change is Good”! This change brought me great peace and appreciation!

It might come as a surprise but for me it was not about WHAT I was eating but about the GREAT family I was born into. I did not want to be ignorant of the fact that I come from a rich blood line of humanitarians, preachers, “world changers”, musicians’, and philanthropist, but most all men and women that absolutely love God! (And they actually live it) They are not perfect but they sincerely love God!
That deserves a “Continuous Thanks”.

It is true, family may & will work on your LAST NERVE and might not agree BUT it’s the love from God that keeps us LOVING each other. I have noticed the little things in my life that make my heart smile. So Ladies and Gentlemen keep your hearts and souls on “Continuous Thanks”… Trust me it is SOO worth it!
