RED on Me!

The creation of this outfit came from the shoes first. I bought these shoes over 7 years ago. They are too big but I refuse to let them go…Just put some insoles in them and call it the day. The shoes are an 8 ½ and but now I’m a 7 ½ and of course I have a spiritual attachment to all things shoes. And they are a wedge too…My Fav… Find the right shoe style that works and werk it!

I’m a fan of blazers/jackets etc. which happen to be my go-to article of clothing for just about every state my body may be in. However, it is summer and I was able to locate a couple of light summer jackets that I can wear without burning up. For me blazers/jackets are a great camouflage. Having lost 174 pounds I am still in the toning process of my body so there are certain areas I am not completely confident in. (just being honest) still a work in progress! With that being, said “Thank God” for ways to camouflage if you choose to. In no way am I saying hide, just stating what works for me. That is the joy of fashion; it allows the opportunity for creativity and the chance to try things that work for your body type. I do believe if you find something that works stick with it and have fun!

I happened to find the jacket at Tuesday Morning Closeout sale for $2! Now that is a deal. The necklace and earrings are my favorite pieces of jewelry to wear. You will spot me wearing this OFTEN!! Love it!

Snatched the purse while traveling at a T.J. MAXX. It was on sale for, wait for it……$10

The leggings I had for a while and was waiting for the perfect time to sport them. Located them at Walmart wait for it…$4.97

Long sleeve white shirt is actually very light and super comfy. I picked this up at the Goodwill store à $1.97 The thrift store is always another fav spot of mine to locate what I need. If you are on a budget which is most of the world…When all else fails go to your neighborhood second hand/thrift store and create your own look. I have done it ALL of my adult life and will continue to do it. It’s the place to go to find an authentic look!

Smiling & Laughing...

It was father’s day weekend and I must say I really enjoyed myself. The men in my life have given me so much love and support and I am truly grateful for them. And my weekend went something like this…

You might realize that my mother (mimi) is missing from these pictures. Would you believe she doesn’t like taking pictures? (Ridiculous) I begged and she refused…The day was filled with laughter and great conversation. The older I become I’m learning not to sweat the small stuff. Learn to find a smile somewhere there is someone living a permanent life of misery and defeat. If you can get out of bed in the knowing; today I am going to smile and laugh at something, you have already had a great day.

A glance at Last week…Unfortunately I didn’t get pics of everything but this was all that was captured. Had the privilege of leading praise and worship last week at my God brother’s (soft launch) revival service. It was bananas!!!…So proud of Elder Bryant and Lisa Triplett. I personally want to say “Thank You” for allowing me to be a part. I love y’all dearly! It’s a new ministry with a powerful punch… and I perceive great things for Lifehouse Ministries.

And so the last few weeks have been a little something like this…

It has been a blessing to meet and hangout with some powerful people. Couldn’t get a pic of everyone but the moments are permanently glued in my brain.  Of course being a lover of music I had to the opportunity to experience the sound of Kevin Gray and YES it was amazing…I’ve always enjoyed his ministry thanks for the pic! (A little star struck).  Also I mention a few weeks ago, Big Al Cherry…Let’s just say he was so down to earth. “Southern Charm” at its best!  In my opinion this man is a lyrical genius, with a powerful message of Christ! I recommend checking both of these amazing artists out!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted pics from “TricaB” closets…I am working on that…Enjoy this beautiful weather! Keeping trusting & believing Dreams REALLY Do come true! #DareToTrust

DARE to TRUST!!

Whew!! Finally, I can get my thoughts down and share…Every day has been packed with something... Pretty soon I might have to hire a personal assistant and a driver. For the last several weeks I began to challenge myself on “Trusting God” completely without doubt but being fully persuaded that what he promised he was able to perform- (Romans 4:2)

I have been talking about trust ALL week and I said to myself now it is time to take your own advice and get to work. So, I dared myself to TRUST God COMPLETELY and for the rest of my life. The second I did, God has been TOTALLY blowing mind, like really BLOWING my mind. Phone calls, emails, random conversations, etc began to take place. Even when things don’t go the way I think they should go, God still proves to me that “Trica I got you, just trust me”

At first it was a little intimating but I just took a deep breath and jumped. Ummm was it scary YEAH it was but, I have learned in order to expect change you must be willing to change yourself.  Change can be scary to some but, embrace it and still continue to move. Might feel like you are blind as a bat, but just keep walking in faith and trust God!! Trust in the Lord with all thine heart- (Proverbs 3:5)

Of course the devil will try to make it seem like “life” will never change but I know all you need is a little faith.  So I challenge you to join me and Dare to TRUST GOD COMPLETELY for the rest of your life! There will be guaranteed days of weariness and doubt but I know for myself that God is always there. No weapon formed against you shall prosper-(Isaiah 54:17)

When God has his hand on your life expect strange & unorthodox things to happen. It will make no sense at all but just keep going. For me, God wants to get the glory not “man”. For example, I would ask certain people and family members that I knew could help me or connect me to the right people and they would NOT help me. At, first I would get disappointed but God wants to get the glory not “man”. Had those people helped they would never let me forget how they were “responsible” for my success. Sorry! But I don’t want “man” to get the credit for this one. All glory belongs to God. Take “man” out of the equation and open the door to “multiplied favor”.

Special Thanks to Pastor Mark Smith (A Place of Change click here) for listening to the voice of God and allowing me the opportunity to minister. It was truly a blessing and an honor indeed! Let’s Go, Pack, Plan, and Pursue!!

Had the privilege of meeting Big Al Cherry what an honor to experience your ministry. Loved it! Let’s just say I am a fan! So for those that have never heard of him check him out I do believe you will enjoy him. Check it out here

Want to give a shout out to my fam the “Davis Family” it was fun seeing you all this weekend. Thank you for the picture...Love to you!

Last but not least my lil sis graduated this week. I can’t believe that she is all grown up. I almost started tearing up… So proud of her and what she has accomplished. We have been through a lot together but God has kept the love strong! Love you Ciara T. Oliver! Go out in the world and make me proud!
